E-book collection at the Lastu libraries
Borrow e-books and e-audiobooks in the Lastu libraries Ellibs collection. Books are available in Finnish, English and Swedish. To borrow e-books and e-audiobooks you need your library card number. You can access the service by using an Internet browser or an Ellibs app on your mobile device.
Browse the e-book collections of all Finnish libraries. In this service you can also find e-books that are freely available to anyone.
E-Newspapers and e-Magazines
The ePress service has a large collection of Finnish newspapers, offering full digital replicas of the papers. ePress also provides access to back issues up to two years. The service is only available on Lastu library computers or by using the library’s wireless Internet network. Signing in to the service is not necessary.
Read magazines and newspapers from overseas. The service can be used at home, either by using an Internet browser or the PressReader app.
To access the service go to the PressReader website and select “Sign in”. From the menu that opens, select “Library or Group”. Type the word Lastu in the search field that opens and select “Lastu Libraries (offsite)”. Then type your library card number and PIN code in the fields.
Movies and Music
A movie streaming service with a wide selection of foreign and domestic movies for adults and children. You can access the service by using an Internet browser or a Cineast mobile app on your mobile device.
A music listening service with mainly classical music. Pedagogical material is included as well. It is also possible to access the Naxos Music Library by using the NML app.
A music streaming service focused on jazz music. It can be accessed via a browser or by using the NML Jazz mobile app.
Online music instruction in Finnish. Lessons in singing and playing instruments.
The service can be used with the library card of the Lahti City Library.
Päijät-Wiki
Päijät-Häme Wiki contains information about the history, events, people and culture of the Lahti region.
Digitized materials
A part of older, copyright-free material in the Lahti City Library Päijät-Häme collection has been digitized. Most of the digitized material is non-fiction.
